Day 1

Ayubowan to the pearl of the Indian Ocean

Arrival to the Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake and welcome by a representative of Insolite Lanka with a flower garland. Then take the route towards the beach side of Negombo.

Arrival and check-in to the hotel

In the afternoon, Excursion by boat (2h) to see the flora and fauna at Muthurajawela Marchlands. 

The marsh is notable for its unique and highly diverse ecosystem and is listed as one of 12 priority wetlands in Sri Lanka. "Muthurajawela" translates to "Swamp of Royal Treasure".
The region supports 192 distinct species of flora and 209 distinct species of fauna, including Slender Loris, as well as another 102 species of birds. Some of the identified species have been shown to be indigenous to the marsh. You will have the opportunity to see the daily routine of the local traditional fisherman’s.

Day 2

Be Insolite with the children in the rural village Meddepola

Day 02 Be Insolite with the children in the rural village Meddepola

After breakfast, Visit the most popular fish market in Negombo to experience the livelihood of a traditional fishing community in Sri Lanka.

Depart towards a rural village called Meddepola

Visit Meddepola Ancient Temple. Engage in Buddhist special rituals in the temple. (Offer flowers, Light oil lamp, light Incense sticks & Put water to the Sacred Boo Tree)

Continue to the local school in the village. Visit the local school and observe the pattern of educational lives of the local children (Possible to offer useful things for the local children)

Small walk about 01 h 30 in this typical village to observe the different cultivations such as Paddy Fields, Rubber Plantations and Coconut Plantations. Observe the daily routine of this village people.

In the afternoon, Traditional lunch will be served in a local family. Adults can try to drive a Tuk Tuk and Children can play cricket with the local children before saying bye to the village

Continue to Dambulla and have a small walk in the Dambulla Eco Market which is rich in fresh vegetables and tropical fruits and this is the best time to move with the locale community

Day 3

Beautiful view on the top of Sigiriya Rock

After breakfast, Visit Ancient Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya Rock Fortress built on 5th century AD nominated as a world heritage site by UNESCO. The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. Walk around the landscaped pleasure gardens with its moats, man-made ponds and fountains, considered a hydraulic marvel of the past. The world-renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, Grand entrance through the massive lion’s paws carved out of stone and climb up 1200 steps all the way to the top where a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
Afternoon free time or possible to do one of the following activities.

Day 4

A day extremely for nature lovers

After breakfast, Visit the world’s best- preserved cave temple and the giant golden statue of Buddha at Dambulla.

Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain 153 statues and paintings. History goes back to the 1 st century BC and continued to 18th Century Kandyan Era. 

Take the route towards Knuckles Range.

On the way visit Sera Ella water falls hidden in a small village.

Sera Ella Water Falls which is situated in the small village Puwak Pitiya is perfect for a family day outing, with the base of the waterfall being good for bathing and a swim. The cave which creates the Sera Ella Water Falls is an amazing place for the nature lovers. This pretty and unassuming waterfall, Sera Ella hides an exciting secret in its midst. A dry but cool caves hidden behind the curtain of water as it flows down the rock face.

Day 5

Steps up to lively and Lovely village Attanwila

After breakfast, Walk in the Attanwala Village for 02-03h

We will take the small off beaten route of the butterflies to walk inside of this small village. On the way, you can feel the breeze of the mountainous surroundings and hear the slowly moving water through small canals which brings water for the paddy fields. Very good occasion to meet and speak with the authentic sri Lankan citizens. Walk will go through some local houses of the village and end up while visiting the temple of the village.

Then participate to the day to day activities of the local people.

Evening visit the village temple and engage in some Buddhist rituals.

Free time to relax in the heart of Sri Lanka while bathing at Thelgamu River.

Day 6

Meditation gives a good value to the life

After breakfast, Depart towards Senkadagalapura which in now known as Kandy.

On the way stop at Bambara Kiri Ella. Visit Bambara Kiri Ella Water Falls.

Then proceed to a forest monastery.

Kandy is Sri Lanka's second largest city located in the mountainous center of the island. It is considered by some as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, and was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988. A cooler climate and smaller size make it much more pleasant and accessible than Colombo.

Early evening witness a cultural traditional dance performance by Kandyan dancers and drummers. 

Then proceed to the famous temple of tooth relic which is a great symbol of Buddhist culture

Day 7

Prepare a Traditional Sri Lankan Meal with Rohan’s Wife

After breakfast, Visit the local market with Rohan’s Wife. You will buy the vegetables for the lunch. With the help of Rohan’s Wife you will prepare your special Sri Lankan lunch. Taste this fantastic meal prepared by you

In the afternoon, Time to visit Kandy city including a wood carving center to know the process of the country’s wood work, A Gem museum & Bathik Factory.

Day 8

Journey through Golden Green Tea States

After breakfast, Depart to Nuwara Eliya.

On the way stop in a Small Village surrounded by luxury tea Estates for a walk in the village (02-03h).

During this excursion you will have the opportunity to observe the different agricultural activities of the region, specially the locals who are engaging in Tea Plantations. Small session will be done to pluck Tea Leaves. 

Visit a tea plantation and a tea factory. There are many tea factories in the area: discovery of the manufacturing process and tasting of different ranges of tea (tea black, green, and white).

Explore the small city of Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya is a city which is surrounded by tea plantations; magnify waterfalls, Golden green mountains and clear hill country air. City was planned by the British according to their style & the temperature is similar to a beautiful English Summer day. Colorful post office, Victoria Park and The Gregory Lake gives an authenticity to this royal city in the hill country of Sri Lanka.

Proceed to see the lover’s leap water fall in Hava Eliya

Day 9

Blue Train through the tea plantations

After breakfast, Take the route towards Nanu Oya Railway Station. Part of the journey will be done by Tuk Tuk. 

This train journey is one of the most popular scenic train rides in the world and it takes your south, passing through beautiful landscapes of lush greenery and misty mountains. (Seats are not guaranteed and it will depend on the crowd)

Arrival to Ella 

Walk to see one of the marvelous bridges in the world.

The glorious Nine Arch Bridge between Ella and Demodara station is one of the engineering’s marvels in the early 20th century. And train tours in the highlands of Sri Lanka is rated as one of the best train tours in the world because this marvelous creation. This bridge, which is almost 100 years old, has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete. The giant arches take the bridge on a curved path to link to mountains.

Late afternoon, Discover Mini Adams peak through lush green tea states.

A great time to talk with the locals who are plucking and collecting tea leaves, working in the estate. It is 1141 m in height and from the entrance it takes up to 30-45 min for the hike. Views from the summit are incredible. 360 degrees panoramic views with clouds rolling in, is a treat to watch for any traveler.

Game drive at Yala National Park

After breakfast, take the route towards Yala National Park.

Enjoy a wild life safari at Yala National Park in 4 x 4

Being famous for having concentration of leopards in the world, Yala is not only for leopard watching but also for herds of elephants, lone tuskers, wild buffaloes, sloth bear, deer, Sambhar, jackals, crocodiles, species of birds and different landscapes. More chances will be to see leopards if we spend more time at the park. Manik River feeds this wild life and fresh breeze of the sea gives an additional value to the park.

Day 12

Walk in the historic Galle

After breakfast, Depart towards Hikkaduwa.

On the way, you will have a stop at Galle

Galle Fort declared a world heritage site by UNESCO is by far the most important tourist attraction in Galle. Spread over a humongous area of 36 acres, the fort is a settlement in itself which showcases the century-old culture and colonial heritage of Galle. A multi-ethnic population inhabits it, and a tour through the fort is sure to impress you with its majestic age-old architecture.

Hikkaduwa is a palm-dotted Beach Area in down south of Sri Lanka, lined with restaurants and bars. The shallow waters opposite Hikkaduwa Beach shelter the Hikkaduwa National Park, which is a coral sanctuary and home to marine turtles and exotic fish.
